Can I download photos from Action Superstars?

Yes you can.  All the photos that I take of performances as of January 2008, are available from the gallery to download without any watermark.  Each photo has 3 files.  A thumbnail, websize and fullsize.  Any or all of them can be downloaded by right clicking on the image and select "save image" from the popup menu.

Can I print photos I've downloaded?

Yes you can.  Photos you download are yours to use as you like.  That includes printing, using on your website or facebook profile or any other creative idea you may have.  School yearbook staff can use them too if they want.  The staff can give photo credit to Action Superstars if they want, but it's never required.  You may have difficulty printing the photos at your local Walgreen's or Walmart.  Half the time I can't get my own prints printed there.  You're welcome to try.

Can I still buy photos from Action Superstars?

Yes you can.   It might not be as easy to order as it was in previous years since I've removed the shopping cart.  If you want to buy photos directly from Action Superstars, you'll need to jot down the the photo numbers and send me an email (or call).

Why would I want to buy photos from Action Superstars when I can download and print myself?

Most people won't need or want to.  I take hundreds of photos at every performance and once in a while a truly amazing photo is captured that you might want the highest quality print made.  I spend a considerable amount of time color correcting, cropping and adjusting each photo that I put on my website, but, because of their sheer numbers, I can't spend as much time with them as I'd like.  Anytime you order a photo from me to be printed, much more color correcting and adjusting goes on to insure the best possible print.  All the photos are professionally printed and any photo larger than 8x10 is mounted on 2mm styrene.

Why are the photos free on Action Superstars?

Taking the photos of performances is actually fairly difficult.  The lighting changes can be very drastic from one part of the stage to another and from one act to another.  As difficult as that may be, the real work is in the performance itself.  From the people performing to the people behide the set, costumes, sound and lighting.  That's where the real work in performance photography is.  These photos belong to the performers, I'm just capturing the event.  Doing this type of photography has made me a much better photographer and it is why I have a second photography webite (The Digital Pier) that specializes in portrait photography.  Hopefully you'll enjoy the quality of the photos from Action Superstars and consider using me when you're needing senior or family portraits.
